Traffic Barricades vs Barriers: What Buyers Should Specify

Choose the barrier type before comparing price

Barricades and barriers solve different control problems. A Type III barricade may close a road or lane, while a water-filled barrier may provide longer-duration separation. Crowd-control barriers, plastic A-frame barricades, and site barriers are usually selected for pedestrian management, perimeter control, or event routing.

What to include in a barricade RFQ

  • Type I, Type II, Type III, A-frame, water-filled, or crowd-control barrier.
  • Panel size, rail layout, reflective sheeting pattern, and color.
  • Base type, ballast method, wind exposure, and expected deployment duration.
  • Nesting, stacking, container loading target, and replacement accessory needs.

Buyer note

For roadway use, confirm the barricade type and retroreflective layout against the project traffic control plan. For private sites and events, define the visibility, stability, and transport requirements before asking for a bulk quote.
